A quick test to check the blend between 2 stages.

The spoiler was a tricky bart to blend nicely as the smooth stage had to have the same number of verts as the detailed stage which lead to a lot of unwanted bumps and pinching.

The method of blending the uvs smoothly had to be done manually. The car on top has too much stretching and pinching whereas with the one below the texture slides over the surface of the car.

The final CG shot needed to be blended into the real tracked camera to create this smooth camera move.
